Part-time recreational evening course held by the Language Centre.
The Language Centre offers part-time courses to which all adults are welcome to attend.
The courses involve 12-week classes designed to consolidate language skills, suitable for a range of learners from intermediate to those looking for something more advanced.
Please note that all our part-time courses are for recreational purposes only. They are not intended as preparation for any formal examinations that participants may wish to take in their own time (apart from the IELTS courses). Our part-time courses do not include any assessments or tests.
Term dates for 2022/2023:
Term 1: Monday 26 September - Thursday 15 December 2022
Please note Term 1 enrolment will close Monday 12 September
Term 2: January 2023 - April 2023
Evening Classes are held once a week for two hours from 18:00-20:00.
Please note: Intermediate English Level 5 (Block 1) and Intermediate English Level 6 (Block 2) are 6 week courses held twice a week. The Intermediate English Level 6 course immediately follows Intermediate English Level 5.
Please note: we will only advertise one term at a time.
Before you book, you can check the course content and textbook details for each level on the Language Centre website. Please do not purchase the textbook until the course is confirmed to run. The status of each course (running, postponed or cancelled) will be emailed to participants approx. 1 week before the scheduled start date.
Important: Upon completion of booking, you will receive an email to confirm your place. Approx. 1 week before the scheduled start date an email with details of class location, start date, time, and tutor will be sent out. Please look out for an email entitled "Course Details".
If you would like a certificate at the end of the course, please follow the instructions on your "Course Details" email.

Your registration on an evening language course will be subject to the following terms and conditions:
Subject to Covid restrictions, our teaching will be done in-person in Term 1. Rather than allocate rooms at this stage, we will make decisions just before courses begin, based on the numbers enrolled and any social distancing measures that are in force at the time of the classes starting. Any Covid-related rules such as mask wearing and sanitation must be followed whenever these are in place.
